Notes Taxonomy, Distribution, Geographic Variation and Natural History in Trachylepis vittata (Olivier, 1804) in the Zagros Mountains,Western Iran

The Bridled Skink, Trachylepis vittata is a banded skink finitely distributed in western Iran; in Kermanshah, Lorestan and IlamProvinces. In present study, geographic variation was analyzed in 48 specimens of T. vittata for meristic and morphometric characters in three populations from western Iran by the independent sample t-test, the one way ANOVA (LSD-Test) and the principal component analysis. Results of analyses show subtle geographic variation among populations of west Iran. We report observations on the natural history of this skink in mentioned provinces. The conservation status, taxonomy, and habitat of T. vittata is discussed. This species is not regarded as threatened.
