On the Distribution of Pareas hamptoni (Boulenger, 1905) in Thailand (Serpentes: Pareatinae)

Gernot Vogel

Abstract

Two specimens of the species Pareas hamptoni (Boulenger, 1905) were found in Tak province, Thailand. To date this species was known from the former North and the South of Thailand. The northern localities are now within the territory of Laos. The specimens found in the South of Thailand should be regarded as Pareas carinatus Wagler 1830. Consequently, Tak province is the only locality in present-day Thailand from which this species is known.
