New Distribution Record of Amolops nyingchiensis Jiang, Wang, Xie, Jiang et Che, 2016 (Amphibia: Ranidae) from Dibang River Basin, Arunachal Pradesh, India

Abstract


This study reports a new distribution record of Amolops nyingchiensis from the Dibang River Basin in Arunachal Pradesh, India. Previously known only from its type locality in southeastern Tibet, China, this finding extends the species’ range by over 60 km southeast into India. Morphological analysis and 16S rRNA gene sequencing confirmed the identification. The specimens were observed in three locations along large streams with boulders and thick canopy cover. This is the first record of the species from India.
